Jillian Banks (Banks) is a Los Angeles born and based singer-songwriter and musician. Working principally with British producers (Lil Silva, Jamie Woon, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs), Banks has released a series of enchanting, sultry pop songs that tug incessantly at the heartstrings. She is quickly beginning to receive more attention to her work as her song ‘Before I Ever Met You’ has garnered 218,000 plays on Soundcloud after being released and the video ‘Warm Water’ has scooped up 189,000 YouTube views in less than a month. Banks released her first EP entitled ‘Fall Over’ on the Iamsound Records/Good Years Recordings labels. In 2013, Banks released her second EP called ‘London’ on the Harvest Records recording label. Shazam included her on its list of 2014 Acts To Watch and she was named to the iTunes list of New Artists for 2014. Banks’ reluctance to use social media is often noted by journalists. She says that she likes to speak and engage with her fans but isn’t as interested in social media such as Facebook or Twitter. In order to prove her point about communicating on a one-on-one level directly with her fans; Banks gave out her cell phone number on her management’s official Facebook page for the singer. She says that she receives mostly text messages from fans who she says are ‘too shy’ to speak to her on the phone and that the people who do call only want to speak to her about her music and how much they appreciate her as an artist. After finishing a tour with ‘The Weeknd’, she announced her own tour which is scheduled to begin in the United Kingdom in March 2014.

The Orwells are an American rock band from Elmhurst, Illinois. The Orwells formed when all the members were in high school. The band released their first studio album entitled ‘Remember When’ on August 7 2012. In 2013, they performed on the ‘Lollapalooza’ tour. On November 22, 2013, Arctic Monkeys announced that The Orwells would be their support at nine American concerts in January and February 2014. The band were musical guests on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ and played the title track from their ‘Who Needs You’ EP. Mario Cuomo barked into the microphone, drunkenly strutted around the set, collapsed on the floor, thrusted his crotch upward, and then sat down in one of the chairs next to Letterman’s desk before finishing the song. Letterman and Paul Shaffer were so thrilled with the performance that they demanded the Orwells do an encore. In a weird turn of events, the band shrugged and left the stage leaving Letterman’s band leader Paul Shaffer to do an encore of the song along with Shaffer’s band mates.

Warpaint is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, California. They have also shared the stage with ‘The xx’, ‘Band of Horses’, ‘Yeasayer’, ‘Akron Family’, ‘Javelin’, and ‘The Walkmen’. LA Times Columnist Todd Martens wrote an article describing the band’s style as ‘Combining the dense, shadowy mood of some early Cure with the sonic drift of Mazzy Star and Cat Power’s more hazy vocal work, Warpaint occupies a challenging space where the mood can vary from deep woods come-down to fierce primal ritual’. In 2009, they self-released their debut EP,’ Exquisite Corpse’ which was mixed by former ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers’ guitarist John Frusciante. Warpaint were signed to Rough Trade Records, and immediately began extensive touring throughout the United States and Europe. In 2010, the band released their first full-length album entitled ‘The Fool’. To support and market their album, the band played at various major festivals including ‘Summer Sundae’, ‘Bonnaroo’, ‘Glastonbury Festival’, ‘Reading and Leeds Festivals’, ‘Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’, ‘Rock Werchter’ and ‘Electric Picnic’. The album received a glowing review in the NME musical publication. In January 2014, the band released ‘Warpaint’ which is their second studio album and was produced by Flood (Mark Ellis) and the band itself. The album was preceded by the single, ‘Love Is to Die’. The single was released on October 28 with the pre-ordered digital version of the album.

You can listen to a sample of their song ‘Love Is to Die’ below in the media player.
