The Alchemist is a hip hop producer and rapper who has helped to produce many great hip hop albums in the last 10-15 years. Alan started off in a rap group with childhood friend and actor Scott Caan. He would later go on to help his friend Evidence from the group ‘Dilated Peoples. During this time he also helped to produce a few tracks for the group Cypress Hill. He was later introduced to the group Mobb Deep and would go on to help produce all of their albums after his initial producing credit with the album ‘Murda Muzik’. His work with Mobb Deep helped to open the door to other artists that he would go on to work with such as Snoop Dogg, Nas, Fat Joe and Jadakiss. In 2004, Alan would release his debut album entitled ‘1st Infantry’. In 2005, The Alchemist replaced DJ Green Lantern as the official tour DJ for Eminem on the third ‘Anger Management’ tour. In 2009, The Alchemist released his second full length album entitled ‘Chemical Warfare’. When asked about the album title, Alan said “Chemical Warfare is the type of war that isn’t fought with sticks and bats type of shit, where people start dropping. There is a power you don’t see. You don’t know where it is and that’s basically the concept.” You can listen to the single ‘Lose your Life’ right now and the album is in stores today.
