We don’t know why it’s taken so long for us to write about this topic but the time has finally arrived to unveil the beds that we would love to sleep or relax in. Lots of web sites showcase beds that look like they’re from the year 2040. They look all futurist-icy and have an all white background with white furniture and white walls. We might show one of two of those because they’re cool but we tried to find some beds that we would want to sleep in, that are easy to maintain if you get food all over them or can easily be thrown away and most importantly —Beds that you would treat as a home within a home and wouldn’t even want to get your lazy ass out of bed for. After all, we are lazy and the things our bed should do for us is help us eat, sleep and make us comfortable.
Nintendo NES Bed

-The first bed on our list can be classified as ‘cheating’ since it’s the bed sheets that are cool and not so much the bed but the design was too cool for us to pass up. The Nintendo NES Bed transforms your bed to look like a Nintendo NES system with matching controllers. If you’re a gamer and love any type of video games or simply love to collect retro stuff from the 1980s then this is definitely the bed for you.
Disposable Cardboard Bed for the Homeless

-This bed was designed by Russian designer Nikolay Suslov to be used as a government solution to finding homeless people a good place to sleep. The bed is lightweight and can be carried easily from place to place. It is also raised a few feet from the ground and will provide warmth since the person won’t be sleeping directly on a cold or wet surface. We think that this bed has more practical purposes for your home. You can use this bed and eat fried chicken in it. Got some gravy on the bed? No problem! Simply dispose of the bed in your recycling or trash bin and pull another one out from the closet. Who needs to waste all of that time cleaning sheets or matresses when you can simply pull out a new bed anytime you have an uh oh! moment in your bed.
Steel Safe Bed

-At first, we thought this bed was an actual steel safe that you locked yourself into before going to sleep. We now realize that this would probably force you to die a slow and painful death from suffocation or asphyxiation and this bed is only meant to hide valuables inside the bed as you sleep above it. Are you worried that your favorite box of Oreo cookies will be stolen at night by your neighbor? Does the thought of knowing that your Xbox is not locked up and secure make it difficult to sleep at night? If so,we recommend getting this bed for your bedroom. We are already in the process of locking up our Saved by the Bell DVD collections right now.
Southern Hospitality Bed/Pool

-We figured that this bed kills two birds with one stone. You can use it as a pool and have fun in it and can then empty it out at night and sleep in it. How much closer can you be with nature then to lie down in this device and look up at the stars and wonder what a great big planet we live in. This bed also has the added advantage of being used as a transportation device since you can take the bed anywhere you want provided you have enough gas to drive the bed wherever you need to go.
Batmobile Car Bed

-Everyone wants to be Batman as a superhero. If you don’t want to be Batman then you’re lying to yourself. Superman lived on a farm and was an alien. Batman is a millionaire and gets to play with super expensive gadgets. Superman can fly but doesn’t have his own car collection. Batman has the batmobile. The real question should be which batmobile is cooler? The old batmobile or the Christopher Nolan tank version of a batmobile? Sadly, no Christopher Nolan-directed batmobile bed exists but luckily anyone can purchase the old batmobile and have their very own batmobile bed.
Hamburger Bed

-What’s this?! A bed that resembles a hamburger? A bed that looks like a delicious drive-thru food? Designer Kayla Kromer designed this bed after being asked at a dinner party what her favorite food to eat was. She decided to design this hamburger bed which has made its way onto the Jay Leno Show and MTV’s Spring Break. The bed was sold on E bay and now rests comfortably in the Hamburger museum with other delicious hamburger treats.
Star Wars Millenium Falcon Bed

-Kayla didn’t stop making geeky beds as she has now moved into the science-fiction realm and created this cool-looking bed based on the Millennium Falcon space jet from the Star Wars movie franchise. Some of the special features included with this bed are working headlights on the front, a star field projection and secret compartments inside the bed. You can find more photos of Kayla’s bed on her Facebook page.
Motorized Bed

-The redneck bed was pretty awesome as you were able to sleep in the back while the pick up truck drove you around town. We decided to eliminate the need for a truck by simply attaching a motor to the bed. This way you can operate the bed and move it wherever you want without having to even get off the bed. British motor enthusiast and television personality Edd China creates unique motorized vehicles for marketing campaigns or special events such as weddings/proms. He created the motorized bed as well as several other motored operated vehicles such as office tables or a double decker car.
HiCan Bed

-Our last bed of the day combines the ultimate comfort experience with the latest home entertainment gadgets. The HiCan bed features a built-in home theater screen to watch movies or television. The bed also comes equipped with the latest video game systems and has a built in computer to browse the web or use social media. In addition, the bed has a light that will help to read in the dark and shades to help keep the sun out when it gets too bright in the room. This bed has been described as the ‘Ferrari’ of beds and we don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t be given this honorable title.
That’s enough cool and approved beds for now. We’re getting sleepy just from writing this article. We hope we can find some more cool beds out there that are neat and geeky and most importantly – comfortable and lazy. If you have a bed that you’d like to share with us. Please let us know in the comments section.
