Elizabeth Woolridge Grant (Lana Del Ray) is an American singer-songwriter. Her music is a throwback to the musical influences of the 1950s-1960s. Elizabeth grew up in Lake Placid, New York but moved to New York City at age 18 where she started singing at open mic nights like Lilo’s Lounge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She also lived in a New Jersey trailer park for some time. Del Rey first released a three-track EP titled ‘Kill Kill’ in October 2008 under the name Lizzy Grant, featuring the tracks ‘Kill Kill’, ‘Yayo’ and ‘Gramma (Blue Ribbon Sparkler Trailer Heaven)’. In 2010, Elizabeth released her first studio album on the independent label ‘5 Points’. The album was called ‘Lana Del Ray aka Lizzy Grant’. It appeared briefly on Itunes and got a decent reaction but then was pulled shortly after. Speculation is that Lana pulled the album off Itunes and bought back the rights to the album from the label as way of making it unavailable to the public.

Elizabeth explained the change of her stage name from Lizzy Grant to Lana Del Ray by discussing her love of the Spanish language and Miami and the way that the name brings a touch of glamour when you hear it for the first time. Lana would release the single ‘Video Games’ on youtube and the video for the song was shot with iMovie and directed by Lana. The song went viral and became a huge hit and helped Lana to get the attention of major music labels. In 2011, Del Ray signed a joint deal with Interscope and Polydor and released another album called ‘Born to Die’ that was launched worldwide on January 31, 2012. The album went #1 in seven countries. Del Ray would do a live performance on SNL which got a lot of negative attention from critics who said that her performance lacked confidence and that the singer looked nervous performing live in front of a studio audience. Del Ray has kept pushing past the critics and released another music video for the song ‘Carmen’. She plans on re-releasing her fist album ‘Lany Del Ray aka Lizzy Grant’ sometime in 2012.

You can listen to a tiny bit of her single ‘Video Games’ in the media player below.

Attention all lazy people. If you think that making your own bed in the morning is a chore then we have the perfect new product for you. It’s called Selfy the easy bed and it’s a bed that makes itself in the morning using a couple of rails that hold onto the sheets to lift and tuck everything in for you. This bed was showcased at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva by its Italian creator – Enrico Berruti. The bed was designed to help out old or sick people who have difficulty in making their own bed in the morning but we think that this bed has universal applications and can be used by any lazy individual who doesn’t feel like folding their own sheets in the morning. There’s still no details on how much this bed will cost or if it will ever be bought and sold to a nationwide audience but we do think it’s a pretty cool bed for any person that hasn’t made their bed once in their lifetime because of the extreme effort it would take to get all of those creases out of their sheets. We usually just get out of our own beds and don’t think twice about making it look nice for any future guests (hint: we usually don’t have many guests over) but it would still be cool to show any future in-laws that we’re able to do some housecleaning without putting any effort into it at all. Another worthy winner of BoobNewb’s gadget of the future.

It’s been a while since we brought to you a new lazy food recipe that you can easily make in your own kitchen. Nutella is a great chocolaty snack that many people love to eat with a spoon or take a knife and smear it on some bread slices. Bacon is a great side dish at breakfast time that can go with eggs or toast. Let’s take out the carbs and the eggs since we already have our own bit of protein with the bacon. Now, we’re left with only the nutella and the bacon. What should we do? Why not combine them both!

Let’s find out how to make this easy recipe at home.

1. Take out a skillet.

2. Take your bacon slices and place them on the skillet. Let them get extra crispy for that real crunchy taste.

3. Take the nutella and place some into a mixing bowl. Put the nutella into the microwave and heat it up for 30-60 sec. until the mixture is very warm.

4. Dunk the bacon in the bowl until all sides are evenly coated. Wait for it to cool down and turn solid once again.

There you have it! A delicious bacon treat that you can have for dessert or as a neat snack.

If we were to ask a random sample of people in North America about canned foods; most people would come up with an answer such as peas, carrots or everybody’s favorite food – spam. Believe it or not, lots of companies have sold crazier things that just spam at their local supermarket. Before we begin, we should clarify that some of these items are considered delicacies in certain cultures and are a normal meal for some people. On the other hand, we consider some of these food items to be unbelievably disgusting to eat and don’t mind discussing how gross they are if the subject does come up in any future conversations on this topic. So, here’s a list of foods that companies have shoved into a can.

Canned Cheeseburger

-Most customers consider a burger from their local fast food chain to be a supbar meal. Perhaps they haven’t found this gem at their local supermarket. A company from Switzerland sells a cheesebuger inside a can. We don’t want to take a guess how the meat must taste but the bread would have to be pretty soggy sitting in a can for a long time. Also, if the burger doesn’t have any thousand island dressing on it,we’re not going to eat it no matter how good the burger tastes. One of these burgers will set you back 6$ or you can head down to your local fast food joint and get six similar burgers from their local value menu.

The iPhone has been around for a couple of years now and we’ve yet to officially review one. The reason for this is mainly because we’re poor and can’t ever get our hands on one long enough to review one. That, and the fact that Apple seems to release a new version of this thing every few months that we find it hard trying to play catch up. We think the iPhone 4GS is a good enough phone to review since it’s an iPhone that has been tinkered and modified with lots of new goodies since the original iPhone came out. We like to review gadgets after a specific period of time since most of the original versions of these devices are thrown out on the market to show the potential of the device and it takes several versions till the same company manages to reach their true potential and deliver to us a gadget worthy of getting our attention.

Highs:
-Great camera
-Great operating system
-Strong graphics processor
-Siri Voice Recognition

Lows:
-Expensive
-New add-one not worth the extra cost
-Marginal battery life

The first thing that we noticed with the iPhone 4GS is the camera. The camera has been upgraded to 8MP from 5MP on the iPhone 4G. The device makes it easy to snap a photo and includes the camera’s shutter button on the left hand side for easy access. We’re not camera gurus but we can tell you that the iPhone 4GS did take some great photos in low light conditions and has a stability monitor to help stop the camera from shaking when trying to snap a photo. Furthermore, the camera can now take Full 1080p video for those that prefer to shoot movies. The editing software is easy to use if you wish to edit the video on the fly and don’t want to wait till you’re sitting next to your computer in order to edit something. The iPhone 4S comes with iOS 5. It’s a decent operating system compared to Android and the interface allows you to easily check messages with a new drop down menu. In addition, apps can be moved into folders but the iPhone doesn’t have the ability to add widgets on the fly like other Android phones do. Since most iPhones will be used by hipsters or the more casual user, we don’t think this will be much of an issue for most people but some of the more geekier fans might prefer a phone with an android OS for this reason.
