Sunny Leone (real name Karen Malhotra) is an Indian-Canadian model and pornographic actress. She is best known for being a contract girl with Vivid Entertainment and for being Penthouse magazine’s Pet of the Year in 2003. She was born in Sarnia, Ontario but Sunny’s family moved to California in 1996 and she began her modeling career by doing normal modeling jobs before making the transition to nude modeling. She would do various magazines and websites before getting larger jobs with both penthouse and hustler magazine. The larger jobs allowed her to expand what she was able to do and soon she was getting roles outside of modeling including a role in rapper Ja Rule’s music video “Livin It Up”. Her biography confirms that if she hadn’t moved to California then she wouldn’t have gotten into the profession that she’s in and would have probably became a nurse.
She signed an exclusive contract with Vivid Entertainment and has since relased films such as “Sunny” and has also released Vivid’s first-ever interactive virtual film called “Virtual Vivid Girl: Sunny Leone”. She was also one of the main stars of Vivid’s sequel to the popular Debbie Does Dallas series with “Debbie Does Dallas….Again” which became Vivid’s first ever feature film to be released in both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. In 2008, Sunny will be the first ever adult star to be cast in a leading role in a Bollywood film. The film “Pirate’s Blood” will begin shooting in mid-2008 but the Arab press has already picked up the story and are already dubbing Sunny the ‘Indian-American Marilyn Monroe’. Sunny has said publicly that she would like to pursue more acting gigs in Bollywood movies as well as to start modeling professionally in India in the near future. She also hopes that her career will break any stereotypes about Indians and Pujabi people being in the type of industry that she’s in as the Indian community is often very negative and resentful to the type of career that she has chosen.
