Glasvegas are a Scottish Alternative Rock band that formed in 2003. The initial lineup of the band included Ryan Ross of the band ‘Panic at the Disco’ on drums but he would soon depart to the USA and was eventually replaced by Caroline Mckay. In 2006, the band released a self-financed 7″ single, ‘Go Square Go!’. The band had attracted the attention of several major record labels who wanted to sign the young band but the band would eventually sign with Columbia Records on February 14, 2008. The band released their self-titled debut album on September 8, 2008. One month later, they would record a Christmas album that they recorded over a twelve day stop over in Romania which was released in December of the same year. The band was the main act of the NME Awards show in 2009 and then went on a tour in both the UK and the US. The band spent the rest of 2009 touring while being the opening act for such bands as Oasis and U2. Also in 2009,the band played at the Lollapalooza tour for the first time on the Vitaminwater Stage in Grant Park ,Chicago.
Check out the single ‘Stabbed’ off the band’s self-titled album which is a mini-narrative about a run-in with a group of street thugs right now on the BoobNewb Jukebox.
