The Bravery are a post-punk dance rock act that formed in New York in 2003. They were signed not long after debuting in Brooklyn with a few gigs by Island Def Jam in The United States and Loog in The UK. They released an EP in 2005 which quickly garnered acclaim from critics and major media outlets like MTV and Rolling Stone. The band’s name comes from the fact that they live in New York City during such a time of fear. The band felt that living in New York City meant never knowing when the next bad thing is about to happen so they called the band ‘The Bravery’ to say that they weren’t going to put up with that crap and were going to not live in a state of fear.

The band has an electronic sound to them even though they’ve not really listened to any previous electronic bands before them. They just like the style alot and plan to use it whenever they feel it’s right in a song. Their debut self titled album came out in 2005 and they will currently be on tour with the band Ash for a few months so check them out whenever possible.
