Many fast food restaurants are running out of ideas for new promotions and are trying to garner interest in their products by trying to merge products together into some type of Frankenstein fast food creation. The popularity of viral videos showing amateur cooks attempting to make weird concoctions of various different foods has given marketing executives the ability to green light weird new foods in an attempt to get their franchises some publicity. Here are a few of these brand new food items that you may have come across at a fast food establishment near you.

Subway Pizza Sub

-Subway has always been home to the meatball sub but lately they’ve been trying to cater to the pizza audience with new flat bread pizzas. It came full circle for Subway when they decided to simply make a sub sandwich with pizza ingredients. Enjoy spicy pepperoni, piled high and layered with melt-a-licious cheese and their signature marinara sauce.

Cici’s Macaroni & Cheese Pizza

-Cici’s decided to take everyone’s favorite side dish and put it on a pizza. I guess enticing people with all-you-can-eat pizza at the buffet wasn’t enough of a promotional tool for the restaurant chain. Tender cavatappi pasta and macaroni and cheese sauce topped with shredded Italian pizza cheese on our traditional crust. This will certainly bring the kid out in anyone but we’d prefer a nice slice of pepperoni and to simply put the mac & cheese on the side.

Nintendo is stepping into the next generation of game consoles with its very first high definition gaming display. The system’s graphics and hardware are similar compared to other consoles such as the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. This might seem like an odd choice since those consoles came out nearly 7 years ago. Nintendo isn’t hoping that people will care as much about the graphics and hardware when they get a chance to use the console’s new tablet controller which has motion control and touch screen technology. We know from experience with the Nintendo Wii that Nintendo will try to compete its two main rivals through innovation. Let’s take a look at some of the highs and lows of this system.

Highs:
-Nintendo E shop is great for playing NES and gameboy classics.
-Gamepad works well as a TV remote and second television
-Miiverse is lots of fun
-Fast internet browser

Lows:
-Short gamepad battery life
-Gamepad range is too short
-Gamepad resolution is low
-Initial firmware update takes too long

The Wii U is slender and compact and weighs 3.4 pounds and measures 10.5 inches long while keeping a relatively slim 1.9-by-6.6-inch profile. It has an optical drive in the front. The power and reset buttons go in the front along with a syncing station to connect the gamepad controller. There’s a slot for an SD card and a USB drive. You’re going to need an SD card if you want to transfer any of your old Wiiware or virtual console games over to the new system.

E3 2013 is here and this will be the 19th Expo for the computer and video game industry. All of the buzz this year was on the hype of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and to try and find out as much juicy details as we could on both consoles. Both companies announced the price of their console and the upcoming launch titles that gamers will get a chance to play upon release. Fans of both consoles were left happy but had many questions unanswered about each console such as the possible elimination of the used video game market and Microsoft’s omission that you might need to have the console connected to the internet at all times. Nintendo opted out of a traditional press conference but did make sporadic appearances on the main floor to show off new first party software titles.

As is always the case…Here’s a look at some of the more original and unique game properties that we saw at this year’s event.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U

-Nintendo didn’t have much to announce at this year’s E3 so a lot of their focus went into showing off new first party titles such as Super Smash Bros. Wii U. This game will be cross-compatible with the same version on the Nintendo 3DS. The pace of battles will be in between Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game will not make use of the touch screen controls that both systems support during game play. Twenty one characters have been confirmed for the game and include new characters such as Mega Man and the Make Wii Fit Trainer. Some of the stages announced for the game will include a stage based on the Super Mario Galaxy series and a stage based on the Kid Icarus series with Palutena’s statue.
